  • This is a great place to train. Traditional and committed to passing on the old style of karate practice.

  • This is strong, serious and welcoming group of people connected to a long tradition of study and practice. They practice hard, you will sweat! And also learn balance, flexibility, timing and how to make effective movements. They have separate classes for kids and adults, newcomers are welcome. Prices are low because the dojo is connected to a non-profit. Instructors are highly trained and dedicated and volunteer to teach because of a sense of duty to return what they have been given. A true gem, be sure to stop by to check out a practice session and ask any questions to the instructors.

  • Very traditional style taught in a manner respecting the traditions of this ancient art. It's a very welcoming place and the instructors really care about their students. There are a good number of black belts so tons of people to learn from. All of them are very helpful. Great place....really happy that I found them.

  • Prior to signing up at Shotokan Karate in Garden Grove, I practiced Karate at a number of other places but I can truthfully say that Shotokan Karate in Garden Grove is the best. They don't have just one great instructor, but several. In addition, there is at least one class per day 6 days a week, all for the price some charge for only two or three days a week. They believe in the hard style and you will work your tail off. If you want, special training is available at the Oshima Dojo near Santa Barbara. At that site there is a beautiful classic Japanese Dojo which was an honor for me to attend.
