The "Original House of Pizza" was started in Long Beach in 1974. Hilde is German and after about a year, our clientele thought it would be a good idea to change the spelling of "House" to the German spelling "HAUS". Both words are pronounced the same so why not. When it came to making a logo, the Haus became a castle. Then one of my engineering buddies liked the circle idea ( not really circles) over the castle, we added some stars which later became four, one for each member of the family. Gizmo became a member of the family in 1996 and we added his star this year. The "Haus", in Long Beach was taken over by the city under the right of eminent domain and we were forced to move. Best thing that ever happened to us in business, because we found this location in January of 1981. We couldn't have a better clientele. and we thank you for making our business a success.

Personally nicks pizza in Costa Mesa is my favorite. But since its not on the list Doria's is a close second. It's cheesy greasy goodness!

Mmmm... my mouth waters just thinking about the pizza from Haus of Pizza. Perfect sauce to cheese ratio, just the right amount of toppings, great crust. I love eating here, it reminds me of the pizza place we used to go to when I was growing up. Think wood paneling, red/white checkered table cloths, kitsch and family photos covering the walls. Wish they delivered, but it is so worth the drive to pick it up! In fact, I think I just might have to place an order now.
